Boyer Goes 5-for-5

It was almost a perfect day for Eric Boyer.
The Toledo center fielder displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day, but something was missing: The Mud Hens lost to the Gwinnett Stripers, 4-3. Boyer told BNN reporters after the game that luck was "fickle."
Toledo manager Tony Pena Jr. told the beat writers otherwise.
"There was no luck today," the skipper said. "He got 5 hits because he has a solid approach to hitting and he put it all together, and we lost because the rest of us didn't put it together so well."
Eric Boyer doubled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
A look at his season totals shows Boyer with 4 home runs, .295 BA, .313 OBP, 43 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
