Yankees Suffer 3-1 Home Defeat
|
The New York Mets and New York Yankees completed their game despite the inclement weather.
In a low-scoring tilt between the New York Mets and the New York Yankees, 31-year old right-handed pitcher George Kirby was the difference-maker. The New York right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. New York reliever Evan Phillips picked up the win to move to 3-1. Clayton Beeter suffered the loss.
In the top of the fourth inning of a 0-0 tie, New York first baseman Pete Alonso reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put New York on top, 1-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said New York manager Charles Gerardi.
New York has now won 3 in a row.
