Down to Defeat Goes San Francisco, 3-0
|
In a tight contest between the Cleveland Guardians and the San Francisco Giants, Chris Callis was the determining factor. The Cleveland left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-0 win. Trevor Brigden closed it out for his 10th save. The Guardians sit in last place in the American League Central Division with a record of 19-23.
Sebastian Norman had a big solo home run for the Guardians in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Drew Dowd and swatted a home run to center. It was his 12th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Guardians ahead, 2-0.
Cleveland manager Bob Renner commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
