Oakland Gets 13-3 Win
|
The Oakland Athletics defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 13-3, at American Family Field. Oakland was led by 2031 Rookie of the Year Award winner Alejandro Marillo, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Carlos Peña picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-1 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 4 in 5 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The Brewers have now dropped 6 straight.
Oakland used the hitting of Trey Snyder to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Athletics on top, 5-0. For the game, Snyder had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Marillo.
