Bard Goes 5-for-6 Against Chesapeake
Sunday, August 26th , 2001
Huntington Beach catcher Josh Bard had a day to remember today, 5-for-6 against the Chesapeake Armada at Ballpark of Huntington Beach as the Green Jackets picked up a 20-8 victory.
"He was patient up there today," Huntington Beach skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Bard has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Josh Bard tripled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Manuel Barrios in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Scott Chiamparino in the 8th.
On the year Bard has hit .353 with 19 home runs, 71 RBIs and scored 57 runs.
