Bard Shows Off, Hits for Cycle Sunday, August 26th , 2001 Josh Bard had a banner day at the plate today, stringing together all four legs of the cycle as the Huntington Beach Green Jackets beat the Chesapeake Armada, 20-8. Bard drilled 5 hits in 6 at-bats, collecting 3 RBI and scoring 4 runs to capture the win for Huntington Beach. "I was fortunate to see some good pitches and I was fortunate to be able to make the most of them," he said later. "It was a good day for us." Josh Bard tripled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Manuel Barrios in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Scott Chiamparino in the 8th. Currently Bard has 19 home runs and a .353 batting average. |
