Sand Gnats Zambrano Strikes out 15 Boomers Monday, June 4th , 2018 Mariposa Sand Gnats starter Carlos Zambrano brought his best stuff to Sand Gnats Ballpark against the Salt Lake City Boomers, striking out 15 batters in his club's 6-3 victory. In a strong performance, the 37-year-old Zambrano gave up 5 hits in his 8.1 innings of work and issued 2 walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my slider was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." This season, Zambrano has crafted a 5-3 mark with a 3.66 ERA in 64 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .227 against him and he has 90 strikeouts. |
