Ibanez Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games
Friday, August 31st , 2001
The Quincy Bears fell to the Las Vegas Rivermen in Las Vegas Fields today, even as 29-year-old first baseman Raul Ibanez upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Ibanez finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Bears from dropping the 6-1 decision.

"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Ibanez.
Raul Ibanez singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.

Presently Ibanez is batting .375 with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs. He has played in 10 games and scored 9 times.
