Melbourne Beach Hurler Tops in Pitcher of the Year Award Voting

He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Kolby Allard performed like a veteran on the hill for the Melbourne Beach Redskins and walked away with the Sub League 1 Pitcher of the Year Award in the process.

The 21-year-old Redskins star fashioned a 24-1 won-loss record in 2018 with a 2.44 ERA. In 217.2 innings of work and 25 starts, Allard struck out 268 while giving up 188 hits and 63 walks. He held opposing batters to a .232 average.

He received 26 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Rob Whalen of the Newport Cannonballers finished second in voting, while Jake Thompson of the Santa Ana White Sox finished third.
