Reed Batters Dallas for 5 Hits Sunday, September 9th , 2001 Darren Reed exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Fisher Cats Ballpark. The Weston center fielder had a field day in the 13-2 triumph over the Dallas Fisher Cats, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Reed must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Darren Reed singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th. Reed is currently batting .185 with 18 home runs and 52 RBIs. |
