Shorebirds Move on to Round 2 Monday, September 17th , 2018 The Raleigh Shorebirds said they felt the Round 1 with the Gardendale Sultans would go the distance. But it didn't end up being that difficult, as Raleigh advanced to the Round 2 with a 4-1 score, to clinch the series 4-1 at Gardendale Fields. "Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Nathaniel Lowe, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling good about our chances to win the Round 3." For the series, Lowe hit .600 with a .636 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Raleigh Shorebirds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Marion Colt 45s - Corpus Christi Thunder Bears series. Marion leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
