McKay Holds Rainiers Scoreless Tuesday, August 14th , 2018 In a remarkable performance, Raleigh Shorebirds starter Brendan McKay beat the Hampton Rainiers, 2-0, in an impressive 6-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Shorebirds hurler finished with 11 strikeouts and 3 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Hampton manager said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was." This season, McKay has compiled a 5-3 record with a 3.95 ERA. |
