Derrick Dowell Out for Season Saturday, July 31st , 2060 When Derrick Dowell was hurt against the Sugar Land Skeeters, the Long Island Ducks were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 40-year-old reliever suffered a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Dowell would miss 10 months of the season. Dowell has pitched 61.1 innings and molded a 1.32 ERA with 1 save. He has surrendered 27 hits while registering 59 strikeouts on his way to a 5-4 record for the Ducks this year. |
