Woodard's Strong Week Earns ATL Trophy

25-year-old Chris Woodard sent shock waves through Atlantic League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Atlantic League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Woodard made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .360 average, 9 hits in 25 at-bats, 4 home runs and 9 RBI.
Where the Road Warriors left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Woodard certainly made his mark last week.
For the season, Woodard is hitting at a .297 clip with 7 home runs, 14 RBIs and has scored 15 runs. He has 22 hits, 1 walk and a .316 on-base percentage.

0 victories in a month's time got Jesus Valenzuela of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs the Atlantic League Rookie of the Month award.
He was in rare form in April, running up an impressive 0-1 mark and a 2.70 ERA. Teams could only manage a .200 batting average against Valenzuela. In 0 starts and 10 innings he had 13 strikeouts and no walks.
