O'Neill Wins EL Best Player Award Monday, August 8th , 2061 The top batter in the Eastern League last week was Lester O'Neill, who batted .348 and towered above everybody with a 5-game hitting barrage. During the week O'Neill banged out a .348 batting average (8-for-23), 2 home runs, 6 runs batted in and scored 7 runs. Today the Johannesburg left fielder received the EL Player of the Week Award.
