Hagen Hit String Snapped at 22
Sunday, May 5th , 2058
Bobby Hagen saw his 22-game hitting streak wither and die during the Burlington Bees win over Dayton at Community Field. The 22-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 1 at-bat by the Dayton Dragons, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 8-2.
"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Hagen told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 22 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."
For the year, Hagen is batting .361 with 35 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 16 times and driven in 30.
