Kannapolis Starting Pitcher Out Sunday, July 20th , 2059 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Marc Schmidt of the Cannon Ballers knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Augusta GreenJackets while throwing a pitch. Because of a partially torn labrum, the Kannapolis starting pitcher is expected to miss 4-5 months. Schmidt was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." For the year, Schmidt has a 0-2 record with a 7.90 ERA in 5 starts. |
