Echaniz Hits for the Cycle Thursday, May 1st , 2059 It was a special day for Jon Echaniz at L.P. Frans Stadium. Not only did Echaniz's Augusta GreenJackets beat the Hickory Crawdads, 13-7, but the shortstop hit for the cycle along the way. The 24-year-old Echaniz racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 4-for-4 with 2 runs batted in and 4 runs scored. "He hit everything we threw," said Crawdads manager . "There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, Echaniz said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs." "I got some good looks today," he said. Jon Echaniz hit a solo-shot off Chris Damery in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
