Mundt Hits in 20 Consecutive Games Saturday, September 14th , 2058 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Mike Mundt did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Carter Memorial Field. For the last 20 games in a row, the 23-year-old second baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Atlanta Braves beat the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Mundt told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Atlanta clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Mike Mundt hit a solo-shot off Tony Alaniz in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, walked in the 4th and flied out in the 6th. This year, Mundt has hit at a .303 clip with 155 hits, 13 home runs, 55 RBIs and 96 runs scored. |
