Wednesday, September 11th , 2058
Ron Leavitt said it's time for him to concentrate on "being a father and a husband" after this baseball season.
At age 42, the native of Hialeah, Florida has announced he will retire from professional baseball.
"I want to thank all my teammates, the fans, and the St. Louis Cardinals organization, but this is it for me," he said. "I've got a lovely family at home I can't wait to spend more time with."
During his career, Leavitt has appeared in 552 games, logging 2994 innings with 2544 strikeouts. He has carved out a 3.84 ERA with 159 wins and 157 losses and posted 4 saves.
