Glover Raps 300th Roundtripper
Thursday, July 1st , 2060
It was a historic day for Los Angeles's fine right fielder Chris Glover. He slammed home run number 300 in the Angels 10-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
He told reporters after the game that he was disappointed in losing the game. "It's great to get that many homers, but I don't play for homers -- I play to win. That's the name of the game."
In his milestone-making game Glover went 1 for 3, scored 1 run and collected 1 RBI. That home run put him in a select group of ballplayers.
Glover is batting .256 with 1034 career base hits, including 251 doubles, 27 triples and 300 home runs with 731 RBIs and 794 runs scored. He has played in 1162 games, stolen 53 bases and compiled a .359 OBP.
