Toronto Trades Ciampi to Chicago for Flores Monday, June 28th , 2060 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Blue Jays announced today the acquisition of 27-year old RHP David Flores and $2,500,000 in cash from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for 18-year old minor league LHP Omar Ciampi. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Blue Jays, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." This year, Flores has made 15 starts, thrown 71.2 innings, fanned 54 batters and walked 47. His won-lost record is 5-4 with a 3.52 ERA. |
