New York Eliminated from Playoff Contention
Friday, September 26th , 2059
Opinions were split on the New York Mets this season, with some figuring they were true World Series contenders and others thinking they would fade away. The latter group has been proven correct, as the club is now mathematically eliminated from postseason contention.
New York last appeared in the postseason in 2054. This is their 5th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 78 times in their 98-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Mets have made the playoffs 5 times. New York last won the World Series in 2025.
