Barons Lick Lookouts, 2-1
|
The Birmingham Barons and Chattanooga Lookouts squared off at AT&T Field.
The Birmingham Barons, despite a fine performance by Chattanooga pitcher Omar Cotton, grabbed a 2-1 win at AT&T Field. Cotton allowed 2 runs over 7.1 innings. The Barons, at 56-26, sit in first place in the TX/SL Southern League.
Pat Huddleston had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the seventh for Birmingham. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Birmingham in front, 2-0.
"Ah," said Huddleston in a jubilant clubhouse, "the sweet smell of victory!."
