Smokies Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
|
Biloxi center fielder Jeremy Dunn had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Dunn went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, even as Tennessee beat the Shuckers, 1-0. Earning his 20th save of the year was Jon Cadena. The Smokies improved their record to 41-40 with the win over Biloxi.
Tennessee took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Chris Niehaus hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Smokies.
Niehaus said his team "played with determination."
