Whataburger Field was the site for TX/SL action featuring the Corpus Christi Hooks and Midland RockHounds.

Christian Gillum had a good game, but he could not keep the Corpus Christi Hooks from falling, 5-4, to the Midland RockHounds at Whataburger Field. The Corpus Christi catcher was 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 in the loss. Johnny Guerra earned the save for Midland, his 2nd of the year.

The RockHounds got an important contribution from first baseman Curt Reherman, who in the top of the second hit a first pitch fastball to left for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the RockHounds ahead, 2-0.

Midland manager said his team played a "no nonsense" game.

Midland sits in first place in the TX/SL Texas League at 55-28.
