The Minnesota Twins faced a tenacious opponent in Las Vegas pitcher Greg Dowell, but still scratched out a win at MGM Grand Field by a final score of 6-4 in 12 innings. Dowell went 7.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Willie Barcenas was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The win brings the Twins to 17-12, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Luis Palma came through with a big-time hit for Minnesota. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"No time for flexing," said Palma. "It's always one game at a time."
