The Frisco RoughRiders got a strong performance from pitcher Jose Carrillo, who stymied the Birmingham offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Regions Field. Carrillo, now 6-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. John Mann closed out the game, earning his 10th save.

Angelo Castro dealt the Barons a blow in the top of the seventh. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Frisco leading 2-1, Castro hit a 1-1 slider for a run-scoring single.

Frisco manager commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."

The RoughRiders now have a record of 35-40 with the win over Birmingham.
