With 3-2 Win, Smokies Go to 39-28
Tennessee turned a good effort from starter J.D. DeBlaey into a win over the Jackson Generals at Smokies Stadium. The Smokies won the game, 3-2. The winner was DeBlaey. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Kawika Warrah. The save was Fikret Altinkaynak's, his 17th.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Smokies had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when second baseman Jerry Lawless hit a 2-run single. The single came off Kawika Warrah and made the score 2-0, Smokies. Lawless went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Lawless told the Tennessee Bulletin.

The win elevated the Smokies to 39-28.
