Led by Jose Salas, the Biloxi Shuckers defeated the Springfield Cardinals, 6-3. Salas, a native of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, hit 2 home runs for the Shuckers. The Shuckers, at 22-35, sit in 9th place in the TX/SL Southern League.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ramon Munoz? The 20-year old right fielder Munoz stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Biloxi up, 6-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Salas told the Biloxi Observer.
