Drillers Win, 4-3, in 10
|
Tulsa Drillers starter Alex Velazquez took the mound against the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field; and, when all was said and done, the left-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 4-3 win. Tulsa, at 20-28, sits in 7th place in the TX/SL Texas League.
Alex Chaidez went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks for Tulsa. With one out and the game tied in the top of the tenth inning, Chaidez, who is tied for 2nd in the TXSL with a .448 on-base percentage, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Springfield hurler Jerry Gonzales, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Drillers a 4-3 lead.
"We were determined to pick up this win," said Velazquez.
