Barnes goes 3-for-4 in Pensacola Win
|
Pensacola center fielder Jeremy Barnes helped his team beat the Birmingham Barons, 12-4. Barnes, who is tied for 6th in the TXSL with a .445 on-base percentage, went 3 for 4 for the Blue Wahoos. The winner was Chris Bonham in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Lionello Guicciardini took the loss. The Blue Wahoos are now 23-25.
Making an impact for Pensacola was first baseman Milt Driver. Rope drilled a 2-run home run off Lionello Guicciardini in the bottom of the third. For the game, Driver was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
In postgame comments to the Pensacola News, Driver said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
