Nissen, Generals Fall to RockHounds
|
Jackson got a terrific game from shortstop Jon Nissen. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Midland, 8-6. Nissen was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Ken Link earned the win for Midland. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. With the victory, the RockHounds upped their record to 23-22.
Midland used the hitting of Ed Morel to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the RockHounds on top, 1-0. For the game, Morel had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Morel. "I think we showed that here."
