The Mississippi Braves easily defeated the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 14-2, at Trustmark Park, with second baseman Omar Castillo a main contributor to the win. He slugged 3 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5 for Mississippi. Randy Hisel, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held the Trash Pandas to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Mississippi bumps their record to 19-16 with the win.

With Mississippi leading 11-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Castillo came up to bat against Rocket City pitcher Ethan Moore. Castillo hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Braves on top, 14-2.

"That was brutal," said losing manager . "It'll probably keep me awake all night."
