Cardinals Defeat Lookouts, 2-0
|
Springfield turned a good effort from starter Bobby Barragan into a win over the Chattanooga Lookouts at Hammons Field. The Cardinals won the game, 2-0. Barragan, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 5 walks. Chattanooga, with the loss, is 10-14.
Tim Herron drew 1 walk for Springfield. The 20-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Willie Galdamez. It was his 11th walk of the season.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Barragan told the Springfield Daily News.
