Drillers Lose at Home, 5-2, to Birmingham
|
The Birmingham Barons rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Danny Murillo to a win, beating the Tulsa Drillers, 5-2, at ONEOK Field. The winner was Murillo. He threw 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Alvin Favela. Jamie Casinger earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
With two out in the top of the eighth, Jose Soto had a game-changing hit. The Barons shortstop slammed a run-scoring single off Arturo del Bosque, making the score 4-2, Birmingham.
"Danny is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Birmingham manager .
The loss drops Tulsa to 6-17.
