Shuckers Win Thriller, 6-4
|
The Biloxi Shuckers picked up a win at MGM Park, downing the Tulsa Drillers, 6-4. On the mound for Biloxi was right-hander Mike Scherf, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Shuckers, now 5-11, have not found much traction so far in 2059.
Biloxi got a knockout punch from Zeljko Balasevic. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Scherf. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
