Akron starter Rich Colon pitched effectively against the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Picking up his 1st save was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Tim Lehmen. With the loss, Portland is 3-1.
Akron used a clutch at-bat from Ernesto Salazar to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the RubberDucks ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
