Baltimore Edges Cleveland, 3-2
|
The Baltimore Orioles, despite a fine performance by Cleveland pitcher Andy Goddard, grabbed a 3-2 win at Arhaus. Goddard allowed 1 run over 6.1 innings. Bill Loredo picked up the win in relief for Baltimore, while Alan Wattley took the loss. Joel Bruner got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ezra Morris? The 28-year old shortstop Morris stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Baltimore up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Morris.
The win takes Baltimore to 11-12.
