Astros Better Bobcats, 4-3
|
The Cleveland Bobcats and Houston Astros provided some drama for the home crowd.
Demesu Waitimu, who signed a 6-year contract worth $196,400,000 on 01/12/2058, had a strong outing for the Houston Astros against the Cleveland Bobcats at Minute Maid Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Houston pitcher Rich Ortega earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Javion Williams suffered the loss. Jake Chrisp got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Tyler Steel drove in one run for Houston. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Steel had a clutch at-bat. Facing Cleveland hurler Javion Williams, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Astros a 2-1 lead.
"Demesu did a good job mixing and matching," said Houston manager Ron Astros GM.
The Bobcats fall to 5-7 and continue to sputter in the early going.
