The Boston Red Sox pasted the Seattle Mariners with a convincing 14-2 defeat at T-Mobile Park. A.J. Lovejoy was a prime factor in the Boston win. He went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Mariners fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 2058 season.

With Boston leading 10-2 in the top of the ninth, Lovejoy came up to bat against Seattle pitcher Henry Munoz. Lovejoy hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Red Sox on top, 14-2.

"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Boston skipper Mark Schutt.
