Reds Sunk by Phillies
|
Philadelphia picked up a win at Citzen Bank Field, bumping off the Cincinnati Reds, 6-3. Pitcher Tony Araos was a major reason the Phillies emerged victorious. Araos yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-0. The defeat makes Cincinnati 4-4.
Mike Reinert was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Philadelphia. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Billy Quinlan. It was his 6th hit of the season.
Philadelphia manager Chris Berry praised his team's "businesslike approach."
