Rumble Ponies Suffer 10-2 Loss to Harrisburg
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Harrisburg and Binghamton from playing their scheduled game.
Harrisburg starter Chris Ferrel kept the Binghamton hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 10-2. In 5.1 innings, Ferrel surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run.
The Senators got a big hit from catcher Ron Reynolds. Facing Binghamton pitcher Jim Thomas in the bottom of the eighth, Reynolds pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the Senators ahead, 10-2.
"What a debacle," groaned Binghamton manager in postgame remarks.
Now 6-8, the Rumble Ponies have not played well this season.
