Cleveland Bobcats starter Andy Goddard kept the Las Vegas Athletics hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Alan Wattley nailed down his 1st save. Cleveland goes to 2-3.

Tied up with the Athletics in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bobcats got a boost from second baseman Phil Blue. With the bases loaded, Blue saw a first pitch cutter from R.J. Daniels and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Cleveland on top, 4-2.

In postgame comments to the Cleveland Bulletin, Blue said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
