Delgadillo Helps New York Outscore Cleveland
The New York-Cleveland matchup turned into a slugfest.

The New York Yankees downed the Cleveland Bobcats, 16-13, at Yankee Stadium. Nestor Delgadillo led the way, going 3-for-5 for New York. Dave Yenglin was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was A.J. Winters. Chris Muench finished the game for New York and earned his 1st save.

New York took the lead, 15-11, on Sang-youn Kim's 1st double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Kim hit in the bottom of the seventh, made Cleveland pitcher Alan Wattley wince.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said New York manager Robin Hawkins.

The win gives New York a record of 2-1.
