Though he had a terrific game, Joel Fuller could not prevent his team, the Los Angeles Angels, from absorbing a loss. Texas won the game, 4-3. Fuller went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win puts Texas at 2-0.

The Rangers got a big at-bat from catcher Ron Crouch. For the game, Crouch was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Texas a 4-1 lead.

"Enjoyed this one," Crouch told the Texas Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
