Curve Reel Off Another Win
|
The Richmond Flying Squirrels got a sterling performance from pitcher Tim Miller, but the Altoona Curve still prevailed, 7-4. Miller threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Altoona reliever Gabe Ward picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Andy Forbus was tagged with the loss. The win puts Altoona at 8-1.
Had Steve Takaki not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Takaki hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Curve.
