Thunder Score Late to Nip Rumble Ponies, 3-2
|
The Thunder grabbed a win, 3-2, at NYSEG Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Binghamton pitcher Tristan Giese. Giese went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Gerald Baldwin earned his 13th save, after closing out the game. The Thunder, at 78-62, sit in second place in the Eastern League Eastern Division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Eric Postma? The 24-year old center fielder Postma stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Trenton up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Binghamton manager .
