Pitcher Juan Gamez was sensational for the Altoona Curve in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Gamez earned the win. Gamez, the winner, moves to 4-8. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. Kazushi Takagi earned the save for Altoona, his 6th.

Right Fielder Chris Hall made an impact for Altoona, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Vince Branch in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Hall went 1-3 with a triple.

"I felt great. Had good rhythm with my mechanics," said Gamez.

At 80-53, the Curve claim second place in the Eastern League Western Division.
