Burks 5-for-5 Against Flying Squirrels
|
Gil Burks exploded for a barrage of base hits at The Diamond.
The Harrisburg center fielder had a field day in his team's 8-4 triumph over the Richmond Flying Squirrels, finishing 5-for-5.
"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Burks must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Gil Burks singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Chris McCain in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season, Burks has hit 16 home runs and posted a .284 batting average.
