Loss Tarnishes Fine Effort by Parra
|
The Erie SeaWolves withstood an impressive performance by Altoona center fielder Danny Parra to defeat the Curve, 11-8, at People's Natural Gas Field. Parra went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Robbie Gray earned his 32nd save in 35 chances. The SeaWolves raised their record to 65-68.
In the top of the sixth, Erie left fielder Jim Lundberg had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Lundberg stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 9-6, Erie. For the game, he was 4 for 5 with 4 singles.
In postgame comments, Lundberg told the Erie Chronicle: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
